A note from Craig Axford

Dear Friends,
It was an honor to work with each of you over the course of the past 2 1/2 months as I ran for State Democratic Party Chair. I owe each of you a debt of gratitude for your donations, volunteer time, and advice.

I don't want anyone to have any regrets with regard to the way the election turned out. I feel strongly we ran a good campaign, focusing on important issues facing our party.

I can't want to say how we are grateful to enough for your support and concern in the matter of my VA interst and lawsuit.

While it may not be evident now, I know we will see over time that by participating we did make a difference.

I am committed to continuing to work within the Democratic Party and advancing a message that includes healthcare for all, civil liberties, environmental stewardship, a quality education for our children, a living wage, etc. I hope each of you will come away with a renewed commitment to working with me and others on these important issues, especially as we approach the 2006 campaign season.

While I wish I had won last Saturday, I feel confident the party is in good hands. I know the new leadership is willing to listen to our concerns and will be inclusive and open in its approach. Any hard feelings or disappointment that exists must be put aside and our focus must be on moving forward.
Thank you again for all your hard work and support. I look forward to continuing to work with you toward our long-term goal of a Democratic majority in Utah.

Craig Axford's Campaign Manager

Well, the campaign is over. In some respects it feels like a lifetime, in others, it is amazing how fast it went by!

I am writing to express my gratitude to you for all of your support for Craig and his campaign.

Craig didn't win the position of chair, but he did win by shaping the debate. He won by expressing our views. You most certainly haven't heard the last of him. His voice and the
Utah Democratic Progressive Caucus will be heard loud and clear.

During the campaign, I had the chance to meet with most of the candidates (there were so many!). I must say, meeting both Wayne Holland and Rob Miller, I was so pleased to know the competition was of such quality. I feel they will do a stellar job.

Craig's values are expressed in the caucus he co founded. please visit the Utah Democratic Progressive Caucus website .

Let us rest and regroup. We have a lot of work ahead of us! Let's do this proudly as we support our new leadership!

Your friend,

I would love your support.
